The Model Context Protocol, or MCP, is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems. A tool exposes what it can do as an MCP server, and an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can then read and act through it.
In SEO, it means asking an assistant about your own figures rather than exporting them first. Owlseen plans an MCP server at /api/mcp, which isn’t released yet.
